Accomplishments

What We’ve Achieved so far…

In Community and Small Groups

  • Consulting, coaching, training for as many as 75 churches in small group ministry for the Evangelical Free Church of Texas/Oklahoma region in role as their Small Groups Specialist. Trained/training nearly 40 pastors and leaders, including 10 church planters, in nearly 100 coaching sessions, as of June 2023. Leading credentialing efforts as well. Recently began work with a church in Illinois in the Quad Cities.

  • Written Bible and sermon discussion questions for small groups for churches in Nebraska, Illinois, and Texas.

  • In a collaborative effort, writing questions for a new Bible study guide.

  • Led small group ministry, which included training 200 leaders and apprentices, providing vision casting, leadership, and oversight in growth from 40 to 100+ Community and Care Groups, and dramatically increasing involvement to 1,000 adults or 70% small group participation in Kearney, Nebraska.

  • Made 200 Small Groups and Care Groups visits and encouraged, assisted, and coached leaders afterwards. Helped 14 Small Groups to multiply (reproduce) in Kearney, Nebraska.

  • Led small group ministry and provided vision casting, leadership, and oversight in growth (including multiplication) from 15 to 50 small groups in one congregation in Chicago, Illinois. Also, consulted for, collaborated with and trained a broad range of local pastors and their leaders in small group ministry.

  • Recruited, trained and supervised campus staff members and interns for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship’s 14 Texas campuses with primary focus on small group ministry.

In Creation Care

  • Led community-engaged creation care ministry at churches in Illinois and Texas.

  • Consulted for a broad range of congregations, businesses, individuals, and other non-profits about saving energy and water (and money), improving air quality, and diverting waste from landfills in Texas and Illinois.

  • Recruited homeowners to showcase their solar energy and heating, electric vehicles, smart water conservation and collection efforts, zero waste management, energy efficiency, and innovative green building design in annual “Green Home Tours” in Fredericksburg, Texas.

  • Helped homeowners obtain volume discounts for installing solar panels through Solarize Gillespie County in Texas.

  • Funded and installed the first public electric car charging station while partnering with the City of Fredericksburg, Texas.

  • Led 80 presentations on sustainable food strategies, green living, and creation care for pastors, congregations, civic organizations, schools, city council members, and other city officials, as well as the general public in Texas and Illinois.

  • Solar has been a key component of our last three homes: community solar participation at our Nebraska home and rooftop solar at our last two Texas homes.
